About Green Run High School

Green Run High School is a public secondary school in the Green Run area of Virginia Beach, Virginia, part of Virginia Beach City Public Schools. It opened in September 1979 and, at 247,000 square feet, was the largest high school in Virginia at the time. The school received the 2010 College Board Inspiration Award, and President Barack Obama visited the campus on July 13, 2012.

Located at 1700 Dahlia Drive, the school serves grades 9-12 and draws from a diverse student population, including families connected to the region's military installations. Green Run Collegiate, an International Baccalaureate charter school, shares the campus but operates as a separate school.
