About Ocean Lakes High School

Ocean Lakes High School is a public high school in the Virginia Beach City Public Schools division, opened in 1994 and located at 885 Schumann Drive in the Ocean Lakes/Red Mill area of southern Virginia Beach, Virginia. In 1996 the school established the Mathematics and Science Academy, described as the first of several magnet programs in Virginia Beach; the academy requires advanced coursework and a senior mentorship or research project in math and science fields.

The school's teams are the Dolphins, competing in the Virginia High School League, and its colors are blue, silver, white, and gold. Athletic state championships include football (2014), boys swimming and diving (2020-21), and gymnastics (Class 5A, 2024). Notable alumni include NFL players Derrick Nnadi, Justin Hunter, and Eli Harold, and MLB pitcher Bill Bray.
