Who we are

We're Tom and Dariya Milan, the husband-and-wife team behind VaHome.com. We're licensed Realtors with LPT Realty, and we represent buyers and sellers across Hampton Roads — Virginia Beach, Norfolk, Chesapeake, Suffolk, Portsmouth, Hampton, Newport News, and Williamsburg. We live here, our kids go to school here, and our local knowledge isn't something we read in a relocation packet.

VaHome.com exists because the real estate sites you've been searching on were built for traffic — not decisions. They show you a teaser monthly payment that skips taxes, insurance, HOA, and PMI. They don't tell you which side of a school boundary a house sits on. They certainly don't calculate how a 25-minute commute to Naval Station Norfolk turns into 55 minutes on a tunnel-back-up day. We built this site to fix that.

What we specialize in

  • Military relocation & PCS moves. A huge share of our business is service members and their families coming to or leaving Hampton Roads. We understand BAH caps, on-base/off-base trade-offs, deployment-friendly neighborhoods, school zones near every major installation, and the timing pressures of a PCS window.
  • VA loans. If you qualify for a VA loan, we'll walk you through what 0% down actually means in this market, how the VA appraisal differs from conventional, and which Hampton Roads sellers are most VA-friendly.
  • First-time home buyers. First-time buyers don't need to be sold — they need someone to slow down, explain the process, and protect them from rushing into the wrong house. That's our default mode.
  • Waterfront, oceanfront & new construction. Sandbridge, Harbour View, Western Branch, Greenbrier, the new builds in Suffolk — we've walked the neighborhoods, met the builders, and can tell you where value is and where the marketing is louder than the substance.
  • Listing strategy. When you sell with us, your home is staged, photographed, and marketed to the right buyer pool — which in Hampton Roads often means the inbound PCS or VA-loan buyer arriving in 30–90 days, not just the local resale market.

How we work

We treat every transaction as a long-term relationship. We'd rather lose a deal than push you into a house that doesn't fit your life — because the referrals and repeat clients we get from doing it right are worth more than any single commission. If a property has problems, we'll tell you. If a price is wrong for the comps, we'll show you the comps. If your timing is off, we'll say so.

Our preferred lender, inspector, and closing-attorney network is built from people we'd trust with our own money — and we'll happily refer you elsewhere if you'd rather use your own.

Areas we serve

The seven cities of Hampton Roads plus Williamsburg and the Northern Outer Banks border. Most of our volume is in Virginia Beach, Norfolk, Chesapeake, and Suffolk, with regular work in Portsmouth, Hampton, Newport News, and Williamsburg.
