About Thoroughgood Elementary School

Thoroughgood Elementary School is a public school in Virginia Beach City Public Schools, serving grades PK-5 at 1444 Dunstan Lane in the Thoroughgood section of Virginia Beach, Virginia. The school and surrounding neighborhood take their name from Adam Thoroughgood, a 17th-century English colonist and early Virginia burgess whose land grant covered much of the area; the nearby Adam Thoroughgood House (circa 1680) is a National Historic Landmark located separately from the school campus.

The current school building opened in 2016, replacing an earlier facility of more than sixty years on the site.
