About Bayside High School

Bayside High School opened in September 1964 and is one of the older comprehensive high schools in the Virginia Beach City Public Schools division. It is located at 4960 Haygood Road in the Haygood area of northern Virginia Beach, serving grades 9 through 12. The school is home to the district's Health Sciences Academy, a magnet program drawing students from across the city.

The campus sits in a large-city locale in the northern section of Virginia Beach, near the Aragona, Amherst, and Cypress Point neighborhoods. Its teams compete as the Marlins in the Virginia High School League. The school's athletic rival is Princess Anne High School.
