About Bayside Elementary School
Bayside Elementary School traces its origins to an early log-cabin school and, in 1911, relocated to the W.E. Biddle School building on Independence Boulevard, when it was renamed The Bayside School. In 1941 the school moved to its current site at 5649 Bayside Road. After the aging facility was determined to be beyond renovation, the original building was demolished in 1999, and a newly constructed Bayside Elementary School opened on the same site in December 2000.
The school is part of Virginia Beach City Public Schools and sits in the Bayside area of northern Virginia Beach, Virginia, near the Chesapeake Bay side of the city. It serves students from pre-kindergarten through grade 5 and is classified by the federal government as being in a large-city locale.
