About Bayside 6th Grade Campus

Bayside 6th Grade Campus was Virginia Beach City Public Schools' only stand-alone sixth-grade school. The building at 4722 Jericho Road was constructed in 1957 as Aragona Elementary School, served as Kemps Landing Magnet School from 2001 to 2014, and was then converted into the Bayside Sixth Grade Campus in 2014 to house sixth graders zoned for Bayside Middle School.

The campus is located in the Aragona Village area of the Bayside district in northern Virginia Beach. In December 2024 the Virginia Beach School Board voted to consolidate the campus back into Bayside Middle School; sixth graders rejoined seventh and eighth graders there beginning in the 2025-2026 school year, ending the split that had been in place since 2014. The aging building was subsequently slated for transfer and conversion into a neighborhood park.
