About B.C. Charles Elementary School

B.C. Charles Elementary School is a public PK-5 school in the Menchville area of Newport News, Virginia, part of Newport News City Public Schools. It was dedicated in 1971 in memory of Benton C. Charles (1882-1960), who served as superintendent of schools in Warwick and York counties around the end of World War I and is credited as a pioneer of quality education on the Virginia Peninsula.
