About Kecoughtan High School

Kecoughtan High School is a public high school in Hampton, Virginia, part of Hampton City Public Schools. The building was constructed in 1961-1962 to relieve overflow from Hampton High School, and its first academic school year was 1963-64. The school's name derives from the Kikotan (Kecoughtan), a Virginia Algonquian people who inhabited the area at the time of English settlement.

The school sits at 522 Woodland Road in a large suburban section of Hampton, on Virginia's Peninsula in the Hampton Roads region. It serves grades 9 through 12 and its athletic teams compete as the Warriors in green and white.
