About Barron Elementary School
Barron Elementary School opened on September 24, 1961, in the Fox Hill area of Hampton, Virginia. It is named for the Barron family, an old Hampton family whose members made contributions to the city, state, and nation across several generations; Captain Samuel Barron, who came to Virginia from Bristol, England, in the early 17th century, commanded Fort George (later Fort Monroe).
The school is one of the elementary schools operated by Hampton City Public Schools and serves grades PK through 5. It is located at 45 Fox Hill Rd in a large-suburban setting on the Peninsula in Hampton, Virginia.
