About Norge Elementary School

Norge Elementary School opened in 1967 and serves pre-kindergarten through fifth grade in the Williamsburg-James City County Public Schools division. The building was later extensively renovated with a new wing added to house fifth-grade classrooms, the NEED Center, a media center, a technology classroom, and an art room. The school's mascot is the Roadrunner.

The school sits at 7311 Richmond Road along U.S. Route 60 in Norge, an unincorporated community in James City County northwest of the city of Williamsburg. Norge was settled beginning in 1904 by Norwegian and other Scandinavian Americans, and its name is the Norwegian spelling of 'Norway'; the Chesapeake and Ohio Railway built a station there in 1908.
