About James Blair Middle School

James Blair Middle School is part of the Williamsburg-James City County Public Schools division and serves students in grades 6-8. The James Blair name dates to 1955, when James Blair High School opened on the site; the school later became a junior high in 1973 and subsequently a middle school. The original building was decommissioned as a school in 2009-2010 and converted to the WJCC central administration offices, and a newly constructed James Blair Middle School building opened on the same Longhill Road site in September 2018. The school is named for James Blair, the first president of the College of William & Mary.

The school sits at 101 Longhill Road in the city of Williamsburg, Virginia, in a small suburban locale. Its mascot is the Spider and its colors are maroon and gold.
