About Larchmont Elementary School

Larchmont Elementary School is a public PK-5 school in the Larchmont neighborhood of Norfolk, Virginia, operated by Norfolk City Public Schools. According to Norfolk Public Schools history, the school began in October 1913 under the former Tanner's Creek School Board and became part of the Norfolk school district after Norfolk annexed the area on January 1, 1923. An earlier building later passed to the College of William and Mary, a subsequent building opened in 1930 with a six-classroom addition in 1954, and the school's current building opened in 2017.

The school sits at 1145 Bolling Avenue near the Elizabeth River and the campus of Old Dominion University in west-central Norfolk. It serves roughly 455 students and is one of the elementary schools in the Norfolk City Public Schools division.
