About Granby High School

Granby High School opened in 1939 and is located at 7101 Granby Street in Norfolk, Virginia. It is part of Norfolk City Public Schools and serves grades 9-12. The campus sits near the historic Wards Corner commercial district and draws students from surrounding Norfolk neighborhoods including Ocean View, Colonial Place, and Willoughby Spit.

The school's teams are known as the Comets, with navy blue, gold, and silver colors. Granby is historically noted for its wrestling program, whose teams under coach Billy Martin won 21 state titles in 22 seasons between 1949 and 1970. Notable alumni include astronaut John E. Blaha and actor Grant Gustin.
