About John F. Kennedy Middle School
John F. Kennedy Middle School was originally constructed in 1965 as John F. Kennedy High School, whose first class graduated in 1966. In 1990 the building transitioned to its current role as a middle school serving grades 6 through 8 within Suffolk City Public Schools. It is the only school in the Suffolk division named for a U.S. president.
The school sits at 2325 East Washington Street in Suffolk, Virginia, an area the National Center for Education Statistics classifies as a town on the fringe of an urban area. As of the 2024-2025 school year it enrolled 498 students. A site replacement project to build a new campus for the school was underway with completion expected in 2026.
