Why this home stands out

Homes from the 1940s carry a solidity and craftsmanship that newer construction rarely matches — thicker walls, distinct architectural lines, and a sense of permanence that feels different the moment you walk in. At 1,434 square feet spread across four bedrooms, 1610 Shiloh Place gives you genuine room to spread out without the sprawl of a larger footprint. The lot and layout reflect a time when neighborhoods were built for people, not just cars.

STUART GARDENS and the Newport News real estate market

Shiloh Place sits in the southeastern corner of Newport News, a city that stretches from the James River shoreline all the way up the Virginia Peninsula. You're in the heart of the East End, where the city's history runs deep and community anchors like Doctor Martin Luther King Junior Plaza and nearby green spaces keep the area grounded. Newport News as a whole offers a compelling mix: shipbuilding heritage, a thriving arts scene at the Ferguson Center, waterfront parks along the James, and one of the most strategically located positions in all of Hampton Roads for commuters tied to the military corridor. Living here means you're genuinely central to everything the region offers.
