About Tabb High School
Tabb High School is a public secondary school in the unincorporated community of Tabb in southern York County, Virginia, serving grades 9-12 within the York County School Division. The school opened in 1972 with a design that was innovative for its era, featuring carpeting, movable walls, air conditioning, and tiered instructional spaces. It sits near the site of the Battle of Big Bethel, one of the earliest land battles of the American Civil War.
The school competes in the Virginia High School League and is historically known for its athletics, particularly a football program that won state championships in 1981, 1987, and 1990, and a girls' field hockey program that captured eight state titles between 2009 and 2021.
