About Grafton Middle School
Grafton Middle School opened in 1996 to relieve population growth and overcrowding in the York and Tabb school attendance zones of York County, Virginia. The school occupies a facility shared with Grafton High School, which the schools describe as the only shared high-school/middle-school facility of its type in the Hampton Roads area and, at the time of construction, the largest building in York County.
The school sits at 405 Grafton Drive in the Grafton area of Yorktown, an unincorporated suburban community in York County on the Virginia Peninsula. It serves students in grades 6-8 as part of the York County School Division and shares the 'Clippers' identity with the adjacent Grafton High School.
