Peak congestion is on I-64 westbound (Williamsburg-bound) in the morning and eastbound in the evening, but local routes around York County stay manageable. Local tip: avoid the Coleman Bridge (Route 17 over the York River) during morning rush if you're coming from Gloucester — backups can hit 30 minutes. And never plan a commute through the HRBT or MMMBT unless you're trying to reach the Southside (which 99% of NWS Yorktown families never need to do).
